Mission In A Bottle

Sales to Support the Rescue and Rehabilitation of Retired Service Animals

Today we announce a partnership with Mission K9 to raise funding in support of rescuing former service dogs through our ‘Mission in a Bottle’ campaign!

KeenDog and Mission K9, an organization dedicated to rescuing, reuniting, re-homing and rehabilitating retired working dogs, created Mission in a Bottle to support former service dogs by giving them the retirement they deserve.

“It’s a hidden secret that working dogs, especially in other countries, often end up homeless, on the streets or euthanized once their service ends,” said Katrina Kensington, Co-Owner of KeenDog Training. “Once we made this realization, we wanted to create a program to support Mission K9 in saving as many of these dogs as possible, while encouraging people to invest in training and caring for their own pets.”

The goal of Mission in a Bottle is to sell 10,000 reusable water bottles which will directly save ten former service animals, while benefiting the environment.

“Mission K9 spends around $5,000 to bring a retired working dog to the United States and cover its vet bills and basic needs,” said Kensington. “These are wonderful animals with incredible stories and it is heartbreaking to know that dogs who’ve given so much of their life to help humans are facing such grim retirements, which is why KeenDog Training created the campaign.”

The Mission in a Bottle campaign lasts through May 2018 and water bottles can be purchased for $15 USD here, keendogmission.com. KeenDog Training will donate $5 from each water bottle sold directly to Mission K9.
